Clifton’s Picks for Le French May

Hong Kong is having the popular art event of the year, Le French May! As a fan of art and design, Clifton has spotted some event on his schedule and would like to share his recommendations!


1.    Wipe Out
The controversial French artist Invader is famous for his pixilated mosaic. His creative works will be exhibited from May 2-17 in PMQ. We don’t have to scare his works will be removed from the wall by the city again!


2.    Le Corbusier- Modern Architect Giant
Le Corbusier, a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, is known for his influence in modern architecture. An exhibition about his engagement in art and his production as an architect will be held from May 5 to 28 in Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong City Hall, where he pionerred as international style.


3.    Water Light Grafitti
Water Light Grafitti is a LEDs wall that reacts when exposed to the water and thus allow us to draw on it with the lights. The exhibition will be held from May7 to June 7 in Open Piazza, Hopewell Center.


4.    Colours of Fragrance- Works of Walasse Ting
The exhibition features 25 pieces of works by Walasse Ting from 1968 to 1990. Walasse born in China and settled in France when he was 23 years old. His works were mainly a plainlack abstract work made up of Chinese cursive calligraphy lines and western oil paint which implied a strong Oriental spiritual connotation. The exhibition will be held from May 13 to May 30 in Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery in Central.
