CLDW’s
art collection recently got a new family member. It’s a sculpture
of the 3rd building of HSBC headquarter which was in
1950s. This art piece is called “Swiss Bank” and is created by a
young and talented architect Stanley Siu. This sculpture is made up
by sugus which is a popular candy among children in Hong Kong in the
past. Also, for the 3rd building of HSBC headquarters had
witnessed Hong Kong history from 1950s to 1970s. The building was
demolished and rebuilt to be the 4th building in present
for creating more space to accommodate its expanding business.
Nevertheless, the building is memorable for every Hong Kong people
who born during 1950s to 1970s. The old building can’t be kept
physically; however, it can be kept in this art piece. Can you smell
the old memories in the air? From the sculpture, does it remind your
childhood in Hong Kong? Can you smell your warm, unique and sweet
childhood memories?
Bingo!
It’s made of Sugus.
